My friend Laura Migdon works for NY art collector and curator Beth Rudin DeWoody. Laura was lucky enough to organize an exhibit that Beth curated called In Stitches at the Leila Taghinia-Milani Heller Gallery in New York City. It was a survey exhibition exploring the use of stitching and thread in contemporary art. Artists included: Andy Warhol, David Byrne, Kiki Smith and Louise Bourgeois. The show was a big hit and I happened to see actor Gabriel Byrne at the opening. ;) Laura and I collaborated on the invitation for the event which was very fun for both of us because we fell in love with fiber arts during a class we had taken together at Syracuse. Laura stitched the lettering and I designed the rest including creating the embroidery font based on laura's stiching.
