Nantucket Cranberries

Art Director

Our client bought all the cranberry bogs in Nantucket which is awesome because those cranberries are especially delicious, fresh and well tended. We were tasked to create a logo that could be added to packaging when Nantucket cranberries are used in products such as Ocean Spray. Unfortunately, we found out after our exploratory that a designer with the conservatory had already designed a logo. But we were all really happy with how all of the options turned out and we are waiting for our client to convince the conservatory to use one of these.

The Bog

Inspired by the wet harvest of the Cranberries that turn the waters red.

The Market

We used plain, simple earthy tones and an approachable serif font to evoke the feeling of a farmers market label.

Native Fruits

Cranberries are one of only three fruits native to North America. Since the Wampanoag Indians are native to Nantucket I wanted to use colors and shapes that mimic the Wampanoag visual culture.

Globe

Nantucket is a small island off the coast of Massachusetts so here I wanted to make the island look like a cranberry.

Map

Combining the shape of the map of Nantucket and the fact that cranberries rise to the surface of the bog waters during the wet harvesting season this logo seemed only natural to create.

Nantucket <3 Cranberries

Cranberries and Nantucket go hand in hand so here I wanted to evoke the I <3 NY logo spirit. This logo went a little further and used the cranberry and leaf shape to replace certain letter.

Real Simple

This logo is a simple elegant approach to food labeling. The font is structured and light weight and little elements like the red dotted circle outline and the shine on the cranberries are applied to add sophistication.

Gourmet

Inspired by Williams Sonoma packaging we wanted to add an upscale packaging option to the mix.
